More than 100 people joined LifeLine Projects for the launch of SW!TCH On The Hill, a new community initiative bringing local residents and organisations together in Harold Hill.

The launch event took place on Saturday 22nd August at the MyPlace Youth and Community Centre, where residents were invited to find out more about local services, share their views about the neighbourhood, and take part in a assortment of fun activities for all ages.

A range of local organisations were represented at the event, including the Metropolitan Police, Youth Unity, Deer Aid, and Havering Changing, along with representatives from the Live Well Havering programme and the Government’s national Pride in Place funding scheme, as well as members of the SW!TCH On The Hill steering committee. The event provided an opportunity for residents to meet organisations working in the area and find out more about the support and activities available locally.

There was also plenty for families and young people to get involved in, including basketball, board games, giant Jenga, Connect 4, curling, skittles, space hoppers and nail painting. Local business The Fat Pizza also supported the event by providing free pizza for residents.

The launch is the beginning of a wider programme of activity designed to strengthen connections within the Harold Hill community and give local residents a greater say in what happens in their neighbourhood.

LifeLine Projects will continue working with residents, community organisations, and local partners as SW!TCH On The Hill develops, made possible by Reaching Communities funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.
