Description

The Care Quality Commission reports urgent adult mental health referrals in England have more than doubled from April 2023 to March 2024—driven especially by residents in deprived areas like LBBD. Our Mental health service has been commissioned to support the residents of LBBD before they reach crisis point.

The Wellbeing Coordinator plays a key role in our Mental Health Recovery Service for Redbridge which supports individuals with a diagnosed mental health concern to continue recovery by providing advice and 1-1 support, alongside community based activities and groups.

The role also supports individuals close to, or at, crisis point within our Crisis Prevention Service for Barking and Dagenham, delivered across the borough in a variety accessible community settings, providing an alternative setting to A&E waiting room for these individuals to receive support and de-escalation within a safe and welcoming environment.

Please note: This post is open to male applicants only. This is an Occupational Requirement in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, as the role involves providing culturally appropriate support and engagement to male service users, including younger and older Black men, where being male is considered essential to effectively deliver the service
